Hertener Stadtwerke GmbH would like to build a district heating network in the Muehlenviertel area. The Muehlenviertel district heating network is to be supplied by a heat transfer station. The primary side of the heat exchanger is connected to the heating water of the Uniper district heating network via a connecting line Warmth GmbH flows through. The subject of the contract is primarily civil engineering and pipe engineering work for the construction of buried plastic casing pipes of various nominal widths in the public traffic area of Herten - Langenbochum.

The Hertener Stadtwerke GmbH has been operating the district heating supply in Herten since 1962 and currently supplies its customers with heat through over 2,400 house connections. With the Herten Climate Concept 2020+ and the city of Herten's "Master Plan 100% Climate Protection", the HSW have committed to ambitious climate protection goals. Until the year 2050 Greenhouse gas emissions are expected to be reduced by 95% and final energy consumption by 50% compared to 1990. The backbone of the change strategy is district heating. The aim is to expand the proportion of pipe-based heat supply from renewable energies. The master plan indicates this Areas for the expansion and consolidation of existing district heating supplies as well as the development of local heating islands.
