Description:
The city of Arnsberg updated the urban development concept from 2007 and developed integrated action concepts for the Arnsberg and Huesten urban redevelopment areas decided on by the Arnsberg city council on December 13, 2006 (InHK, 2016). The key objective is to strengthen the centers and city districtsere against the background of demographic and economic structural changes.
As the location of the town hall, which is currently being renovated and renovated, its diverse school and sports landscape and as a leisure location with the sports and brine park and the Riggenwei event areade, Huesten occupies an important position as a district of Arnsberg. As the third most populous district, Huesten is also an important residential area.
The local business center is located in the historical core area of the district, i.e. to the east around St. Petri Church and along Markstrace. The central business center is currently showing a few vacancies.
Huesten offers a decisive locational advantage for local companies thanks to its very good transport connections. Huesten is regionally connected by the federal autobahn A 46, in particular to the regional center of Dortmund aconnected. The Neheim-Huesten train station connects Huesten with Dortmund, Hagen, Winterberg and Kassel. Within the city, Huesten is connected by various bus lines, as well as by the Radexpressweg Arnsberg (RXA).
