Description: The introduction of a dose management system represents an important step for the Mainz University Medical Center in the further development of radiation protection and the proper operation of the existing X-ray facilities according to the new radiation protection law.
In the introductory phase of the dose management system, the high-dose systems (computed tomography, angiography systems) are to be administered first, and in the final stage all X-ray-based devices for medical diagnosis and therapy in university medicine are to be administered. It is planned to integrate all modalities of the Clinic for Nuclear Medicine into the DMS. The dose management system is to be operated jointly by the radiation protection department (radiation protection officer) and the medical operating units (radiation protection officer) with the cooperation of the medical-physics experts from radiology, radio-oncology and nuclear medicine.
