- Renovation of Max-Delbrück-Haus (MDH or House 31.1) - Awarding of specialist planning services for technical equipment in accordance with HOAI §55, system groups 1, 2, 3, 7 and 8 in accordance with HOAI §53 LP5-LP9. The services include planning services for the demolition work of the v.g. System groups, the associated interim measures as well as for the renewal of the above mentioned. System groups in the building as well as the renovation of underground pipes below the floor slab and in the area of the outdoor facilities. Form the basis of the planned measures in particular a feasibility study, a concept for the “basic and energy-efficient renovation of Max-Delbrück” from 2022 as well as the design and approval planning that is currently being prepared. The project is largely made up of Funded by federal (90%) and state (10%) grants as well as third-party funds. This is a grant measure in the sense of: §44 BHO according to RZBau; the BBR is entrusted with testing and control activities. The MDH is the largest research building on the Berlin-Buch campus of the Max Delbrück Center (NUF 10,700 sqm), the "heart" of scientific research at the MDC with around 50% of the scientific working groups. The house is part of building complex 31 (31.1, 31.2 and external technical center 31.3). It was put into operation in 1980 and was renovated for the first time in the 90s. The building was constructed as a prefabricated reinforced concrete structure in a 7.20 m grid according to the “SK Berlin” system. The capital goods (laboratory equipment, expansion) have a lifespan exceeded. With the majority of laboratory space, the building is also the MDC's largest energy consumer. Against the background of the energy transition and future changes to the legal situation, a significant reduction in energy consumption is essential.
