Electric fishing to Lahn and Mosel:

The production of continuousness on the federal waterways is a legal obligation of the waterway and shipping management (WSV). The Federal Institute for Water Studies (BFG) ensures the specialist advice. For urgent questions aboutAnswering ecological continuity on large rivers is carried out by the BFG a research and development concept "Manufacture of ecological continuity at staustuits of federal waterways". As part of this FUE concept, a population model is developed with which theEffects of transverse structures on the population development of potermodroma fish species are to be assessed. The calibration and validation of the model is carried out using two project areas (river sections of Lahn and Mosel). Resilient data on the fish stock is also required for this.For some sections, data from the long -term fish monitoring of the BFG are already available, which, however, are not sufficient for a continuous assessment of the fish stocks in the project areas. The present tender therefore includes the implementation of complementary electric fishing in theProject areas to Lahn and Mosel.

The fish population will be charged on 36 selected 500m routes in September/October 2025 in the Lahn and on 36 selected 500m routes in September/October 2026.

The entire fish stock is recorded (including nine -eye), determined at the level of speciesand measure. Weather, structure/habitat parameters and fish-relevant structural elements are absorbed. All records must be logged in the field, digitized below and to be handed over to the client (AG) both in the original field protocol and digitally.
