- The Mineralogy-Geochemistry Department of the Institute of Geosciences and Geography at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg intends to purchase a high-resolution electron beam microprobe (Electron Probe MicroAnalyzer, EPMA) for precise quantitative and qualitative analysis the chemical composition of solid samples in the micro to submicrometer range. The microprobe is intended to be used primarily in geoscientific research and for material analysis. The aim is the spatially resolved, non-destructive analysis of the element distribution with high spatial and analytical precision. In addition to geomaterials, it is also planned to analyze synthetic solids and materials with the new EPMA.
