Description:
The "Visitor Mining and Museum Kleinenbremen" (BBMK) is the only authentically preserved iron ore mine and museum in the Westphalia region. The buildings on the property were built between 1935 and 1938 and reflect the architecture and industrial style of this time. The Mining itself was active up to and including 1957 and thus played an important role in the regional economy and culture. Today interested parties can not only visit the historical sites, but also learn more about the techniques and outstanding demands of mining. The BBMK is therefore an important place for education and memory of mining history in Westphalia.
By entering the monument protection list All parts of the building are subject to ensemble protection, which includes both the outer and the inner design. Since 1988 the Property used as a museum with an attached workshop as well as storage and exhibition areas.
