Description:
According to the Precautionary Radiation Protection Act, the Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS) is responsible for the large-scale determination of environmental radioactivity and for the detection of sources of radiation from the air (StrlSchG § 161 Para. (1) No. 1 Letter d, as well as IMIS-ZuStV § 1 Para. (1) No. 2 and AVV-IMIS). AroundTo fulfill this task, several airworthy measuring systems are ready for use, which can be installed in Federal Police helicopters. In order to be able to carry out airborne measurements even under extreme radiological conditions and with regard to the protection of the emergency services,s method ?aero-gamma spectrometry?, to be expanded to include the components of unmanned measuring systems. As part of the research project, the integration capability of certain radiation detectors in an unmanned measuring system, a so-called drone (English: unmanned aerial system - UAS, class smallless than 150 kg), to be evaluated. The measurement technology is to be integrated into a UAS that is to be selected and is available to a federal authority. For this purpose, a concept must be drawn up and implemented in at least one UAS model. In terms of measurement technology, the UAS equipped with the radiation detectors is closedto calibrate and characterize and the measurement results determined during measurement flights must be verified by comparative ground or airborne measurements. Based on the knowledge gained, a guideline for the operation of UAS of this class with integrated measurement technology is to be drawn up....
