The Memorial-Berlin Hohenschoenhausen is a foundation founded in 2000 and institutionally funded by the state of Berlin and the federal government. According to the Foundation Act, the foundation is said to Inform justice in the German Democratic Republic with exhibitions, events and publications and research and deal with the forms and consequences of political persecution in the communist dictatorship and stimulate the corresponding, professionally well -founded educational work afford.
