Description:
The Waldstrasse grammar school is a high school with a long tradition in Hattingen. The school location for around 900 students: Inside consists of the listed main building, the adjacent 1-storey foyer with toilet facilities as a connecting body and the extension created in 1969 mentioned "new building". Furthermore, a pavilion, a sports hall and a mensage building were built in 1970. The building stock has a different renovation backlog. As a compensation for the acute lack of space, the city of Hattingen plans to expand the school location. In 2022 a feasibility study was created in the first step. The documents are made available as an investment for information purposes, the study does not serve as a binding guideline in the context of the competition task. From the certified analysis of the feasibility study, the political Decision of a reduced room program to be implemented of 10 classrooms and 2 chemical rooms including side rooms. The location of these rooms remains the competition participant: to plan inside draft, whether as a new building, increase or expansion of the inventory.
