- In view of the objectives of the Federal Government to preserve the biological diversity and the expansion of renewable energies, it is essential to design the energy transition nature -friendly. This also includes identifying and minimizing possible conflicts between the two areas, and developing solutions.
In the case of water heat pumps, it is a technology that is not completely new, but is not yet widespread in its application. While this has previously mainly been limited to the use of geothermal energy, the use of waters, both for cooling and heat generation, now seems to be attracted to popularity. These newly developed areas of application bring new opportunities, but at the same time also new challenges, especially for nature conservation. In order to address these challenges, an expert opinion is to be drawn up.
