Description:
External coding revision The subject of the award procedure is the external coding revision of inpatient cases at the Leipzig University Hospital. The Leipzig University Hospital (UKL), together with the Medical Faculty, is the second oldest in Germany University medicine has a great tradition. Today the clinic has around 1,488 beds and treats over 400,000 cases annually. Of these, over 60,000 were treated as inpatients (as of 2025). The for inpatient billing in the DRG and Diagnoses and procedures relevant to the PEPP system are recorded by around 35 coding staff in the Medical Controlling Department (MCO) in the Medical Management area, sometimes during the treatment phases or after discharge.
