Description:
1. Problem / initial situation
From the official traffic accident statistics, only limited information on the origin of accidents, the accident sequences and the injury mechanisms of traffic accidents can be analysed. However, detailed information is required for a modern vertraffic safety work.
Since 1973, detailed traffic accident data have been collected on behalf of the BASt as a random sample, independent of the police objective, based on purely scientific aspects.
The characteristics of an accident to be recorded by the survey team are to be found in a code bookwrote. They are stored anonymously in the GIDAS database (GIDAS = "German In-Depth Accident Study") together with the results of other survey locations.
Results of current research projects describe the need for a larger number of GIDAS survey locations and an assumedhonored survey of traffic accidents on non-urban roads in order to make the data obtained as representative as possible for the federal level. For this reason, two lots will be advertised for two different survey locations, with one of the lots being the Anteil is slightly increased in non-urban accidents.
2. Aim/Benefit
The aim of the project is to collect, reconstruct and document in-depth traffic accident data on a random basis for the survey period from July 1, 2023 to December 31, 2025 according to the defined GIDAS methodology.
