  • The range of possible areas of application for GV animals, algae and bacteria that are already being researched and developed ranges from nitrogen fixation and other areas of agriculture, biora mediation, biological mining and biomining (CBD/Synbio/Ahteg/2019/1/3 ) up to the breeding of GV cows and GV salmon. Vie-le of these applications should take place outdoors and raise new questions for risk assessment and monitoring. In addition to the evidence of the GMO in products, the spread and persistence, and thus questions of coexistence, the cross-border and border crossings, the horizontal gentransfer, as well as the genetic stability based on available data are hardly to be assessed. In addition, there are far-reaching questions in the field of technology assessment, for example due to the fast evolution of GV microorganisms, their lack of retrospective, or in terms of liability in non-commercial, i.e. experimental applications.
    The aim of the project is to investigate the following questions with the focus on freetet tongues and nature conservation:
