Description:
The area on the Loreley Plateau is to be expanded as a municipal green space and park as part of BUGA29 and developed as a temporary exhibition area in 2029. The towns of Sankt Goar and Sankt Goarshausen will form a common visiting location during the 2029 Garden Show. Here the visitor should have a... "perfect BUGA day" can be offered. In addition to the BUGA Park Rheinfels Castle, which requires an entry fee, and the free-entry Hausener crane area, the Loreley Plateau will be the focal point for the "perfect BUGA day Central Valley". The international fame of the place, its central location in the upper part The Middle Rhine Valley and, not least, its World Heritage status give it particular significance. The Loreley Plateau is a currently freely accessible cultural and landscape park with a total area of around 11 hectares. It is divided into three functional areas: parking, arrival zone and Park area, with the park area covering approximately 4.5 hectares. The stairway to the Loreley is the shortest and most direct route to get from the banks of the Rhine to the well-known viewpoints on the Loreley plateau. It begins directly at the Loreley harbor in St. Goarshausen and flows into the plateau. Until the opening BUGA29 is planning to upgrade and renovate the stairway. A total budget of around 1.5 million euros net is planned for the measures, and a further 0.4 million euros are available from other funding sources. The opening of the area will take place in April 2029.
