International chemical management is organized in the SAICM framework. The highest organ of Saicm is the ICCM (International Conference on Chemicals Manage Mede; the 5th ICCM will take place in autumn 2023.
The Federal Government and the EU strive for ambitious resolutions for sustainable chemical management that are to be implemented in all countries in the world. Only through safe chemical management can all of the sustainability goals mentioned in the 2030 Agenda 2030 be achieved.
In parallel to the preparation of the negotiations and decisions, clarity must be created about financing options that serve to build SMCW systems, because many actors and stakeholders are insufficiently clear where they can call up resources and under what conditions. This affects programs and funding of all sustainability fields (climate protection, biodiversity, agriculture, work sector, marine protection, etc.).
