• REFOPLAN 2025: “NbS in the Alps - Ways to implement and consolidate nature-based solutions in Alpine communities” The planned research project aims to develop nature-based solutions (NbS) as effective measures for climate adaptation, mitigation and To systematically record, evaluate and transfer biodiversity protection for the Alpine region. The background is the high vulnerability of the Alpine regions to extreme events caused by climate change, water shortages and loss of biodiversity and the limited human, financial and legal capacities of many communities. At the same time, European frameworks such as the EU Nature Restoration Law and the Biodiversity Strategy 2030 provide concrete scope for action. Methodologically, the project combines a broad-based inventory including existing community networks and community associations with in-depth case studies in selected model communities. Standardized surveys, guided interviews, qualitative and quantitative analyzes as well as the Development of a set of indicators was used.
