- ReFoPlan: “Improving the parameterization of emissions from natural sources in the chemical transport model RCG” With the new EU air quality directive, stricter limit values for air pollutants must be adhered to in the future. However, there is Possibility to exclude the contributions of natural sources to the pollution. Dispersion models, which can be used to calculate the contributions from natural sources, play an important role. The project will use the one used at UBA The chemical transport model REM-CALGRID (RCG) should be expanded to include the possibility of showing the contributions of Saharan dust and fine dust from forest fires to PM pollution as regionally as possible. To do this, suitable data sets on boundary conditions and Emissions from forest fires can be harnessed. In addition, various adjustments to the RCG model are necessary. The results should be evaluated using suitable methods and measurement data.
