  The drought events of the summer months2018, 2019, 2020 and 2022 have increasingly brought the water supply, water use and the associated conflicts of goals in the focus of public perception. The effects of climate change in particular are increasingly affecting the quantity and quality of the water resources. AroundAvoiding usage conflicts are required across sectors, common solutions. A nature -related, regional water balance is essential to ensure a stable water supply requirement, to support natural climate protection and to secure ecological needs. To the conditionGuiding principles are required to evaluate the regional, natural landscape water balance in various natural areas. In addition, measures must be implemented to adapt the landscape water balance to the changed conditions of climate change. The aim of these measures is toTo improve water storage capacity and the landscape's infiltration capacity. A comparison between the original state and the condition after the implementation of measures is necessary for a well -founded assessment of success. Therefore, a derivation of guidelines for the regional,near -natural landscape water balance. These guiding principles should be used for both the condition evaluation and the success of the success of the implemented measures. The aim of the project is therefore to use existing literature, expert surveys and possibly modeling these guiding principlesto develop and use in test areas.
