• Refoplan 2026: “Economic opportunities for transformation towards greenhouse gas neutrality and more environmental protection” The importance of environmental and climate protection has recently decreased in political and public discourse, whereas the importance of Competitiveness and economic independence has increased. What is often ignored in the discussion is that environmental and climate protection has long since developed into an important economic factor in Germany and therefore also contributes to the overall economic strengthening of Germany as an industrial location. This project is intended to help ensure that the transformation towards greenhouse gas neutrality and more environmental protection is not seen as an obstacle, but rather as a more relevant, future-oriented economic factor becomes more visible. Economic opportunities for transformation arise, for example, through cost savings and thus competitive advantages for companies through increasing energy and material efficiency by saving imports of fossil fuels. The project aims to collect, structure and classify concrete arguments, data and facts as well as examples of success from home and abroad for selected areas into common narratives. Quantitative analyzes should be carried out to aid argumentation. In addition, concrete recommendations for action should be derived for the state. In addition to the scientific project report, the publicity-oriented preparation of the Results are an essential part of the project.
