• Description:
• ReFoPlan 2026: “Environmental impacts and multiple benefits of reducing energy consumption (EnEffImpact)” The aim of the project is to systematically investigate and quantify the environmental impacts and multiple benefits of energy efficiency measures. So that should A reliable basis must be created to adequately take these effects into account in energy, climate and environmental policy decision-making processes. Environmental impacts in the areas of energy (supply and infrastructure), Industry, commerce/trade/services and private households. Both avoided environmental impacts due to lower energy demand and additional effects along process chains are considered. The focus is in particular Greenhouse gas emissions, air pollutants including particulate matter, resource use, water impacts and environmental costs. In addition, sector-specific multiple benefits must be examined, such as effects on competitiveness, labor market, Energy costs, energy poverty, energy import dependency, infrastructure needs and security of supply. Based on a structured evaluation of the state of research, suitable indicators are developed to record the relevant effects. On it Building on this, a scenario-based quantification is carried out up to 2045 in comparison to a reference scenario. Finally, a cost-benefit analysis of energy efficiency measures with a high leverage effect should be carried out and policy instruments based on this and accompanying measures are analyzed through which the implementation of these particularly effective measures can be most effectively supported and accelerated.
