The current policies, which show the projection data 2025, do not yet adequately set climate -political switches. Specifically, the current implemented, climate policy instruments enable a greenhouse gas reduction by 80 %by 2040. The goal of reducing 2040 88 % compared to 1990 is missed. The greenhouse gas neutrality 2045 is currently out of reach. With the current climate -political instruments and the framework conditions, it is not foreseeable that in all sectors there are sufficient profound transformations towards greenhouse gas neutrality. With the annual reporting on the greenhouse gas projections, progress is constantly checked as part of the research project "THG projections: Political scenarios for climate protection XII".
