• Framework agreement on central storage infrastructure components As a university of excellence with more than 43,000 students and around 6,000 employees, the University of Hamburg (hereinafter “UHH”) is one of the strongest in research Universities in Germany and at the same time one of the largest training institutions in Northern Germany. With its concept of the “Flagship University” in the Hamburg metropolitan region, it maintains innovative and cooperative connections with scientific and non-scientific partners. It produces the future-oriented social goods of education, knowledge and exchange of knowledge for the location - but also nationally and internationally - under the guiding goal of sustainability. The central storage Infrastructure (ZSI) of the Regional Data Center of the University of Hamburg forms the heart of the entire data center. It provides the reliable and high-performance storage basis on which the extensive VM infrastructure, numerous set up scientific hardware servers and the central backup service. The underlying SAN connects not only the two primary data center rooms, but also the disaster recovery site via a geo-redundant line system.
