- In view of the rapidly progressive climate change and biodiversity loss, selective or regionally limited funding measures in the areas of climate adaptation, nature conservation and natural climate protection are no longer sufficient. For this reason, the Federal Government decided on March 29, 2023. This includes 69 measures for natural climate protection. In accordance with the protection of biodiversity, they are geared to maintain and increase the climate protection effect of terrestrial or marine ecosystems. These measures contribute to both climate protection and biodiversity preservation. Natural climate protection takes measures for natural spaces and for the populated area.
