The Fraunhofer Institute for Machine Technology and Reforming Technology is planning a new investment in the area of cutting technology for procedures with geometrically determined and indefinite cutting edges. This applies in particular to 5-axis processing. Area of application of the machine tool is a combinedProcessing (milling, drilling, turning and grinding) of components from the industries: • Tool and shape construction • Automotive • Aerospace.Different cutting processes and the ability to manufacture complex component geometries in the macro and micro area. Materials to be processed are primarily steels, super hardy materials such as glass, ceramic and hard metal as well as ne metals. The use of the machine is used by the useWhen carrying out technological test series, extend to the individual part and small series production. The machine must be universally applicable to carry out tests, but at the same time, high -performance processing under series -like conditions must also be realizedcan become.
