- the associated electronic control.
With the gas control system, an existing device, the so-called gas ripper, is to be supplied with the gases hydrogen and nitrogen. The gas ripper is part of thePartial accelerator Unilac at the GSI research center.
In the following, an overview of the essential tasks and characteristics that must be met by the gas control and the associated control are described, as well as some essential properties of the gas ripper as consumersIn detail, please refer to the service description.
Gas control system for gas trippers
The gas ripper to be supplied contains four injection valves, each of which can be supplied individually with gas:
o two valves for H2 and for N2;
o The valves areOpen and closed very quickly to get very short gas pulses into a vacuum chamber;
o length and repeat rate of the gas pulses as well as the work pressure result from the requirements of the accelerator operation;
o The gas cover is accordingly high, the gas control must be underWork stable these conditions.
The valves are provided with the gases H2 and N2 in the pressure range 0.1-12 bar (a) or 0.05-6 bar (a) and in the middle volume flow range 0 6 ln/min or 0-5 ln/min.... - Documents:
