Description:
The Central Facility for Animal Research and Animal Welfare Tasks (hereafter ZETT) at the Heinrich Heine University in Duesseldorf was established in 1974. One function of the ZETT is to provide animals for preclinical research tasks, mainly for the medical faculty of the university.Other ZETT services include the provision of veterinary operating rooms, implementation of hygiene monitoring, training in laboratory animals and advice on animal welfare issues. Thus, the ZETT represents an important service facility for the Heinrich-Heine University and the Duesseldorf University Hospital. Due to changed user requirements and changes in legislation regarding animal husbandry conditions, a new ZETT building is planned (part of the project, including initial installation).
The new ZETT should youThe effective use of space and the use of modern technology ensure the highest possible level of functionality. Future operating costs and amounts of energy should be reduced as a result. Furthermore, the new building will be realized in such a way that it will also comply with future legislation and requirementsfunctional and serves as a good example of modern animal husbandry.
