Project overview Right Rhine: DB InfraGO AG is renovating the heavily used railway connection between Unkel - Koblenz and Koblenz - Wiesbaden. As part of the general renovation of this high-performance corridor (HVAC) Unkel-Koblenz-Wiesbaden will be completed by DB InfraGO AG (client, AG) in 2026Various infrastructure investment measures were implemented on route 2324 / 3507. In addition to the construction of an ESTW (electronic signal box), including the related measures of cable construction, structural engineering, overhead lines, telecommunications and electrical engineering, this also includesRenewal of tracks and switches. In July 2026, around 85 km of track and 125 switches will be renewed or partially renewed and dismantled as part of a five-month route closure. In parallel to the superstructure work, overhead line conversions are being carried out. Likewise, measures such as the UConstruction of 32 transport stations and the renewal of platforms, elevators or passenger underpasses were implemented.
