The city of Bad Liebenwerda with currently around 9,300 inhabitants in the core city and 15 towns is located in the south of the state of Brandenburg and, as a common center, forms an anchor in rural areas and further metropolitan area according to Lep Brandenburg. Together with the cities of Falkenberg/ Elster, Muehlberg/ Elbe and Uebigau-Wahrenbrueck, it has been forming the Verbandsge-Meinde Liebenwerda with a total of approximately 25,000 inhabitants and a total area of 445 km2 since 2020. The Liebesgemeinde Liebenwerda acts for the city of Bad Liebenwerda and intends that Leisure and media center "Regenbogen" to further develop a "generation center of the Kurstadt region Elbe-Elster" for children, young people, families, immigrants and seniors from the association area.
