Description:
In the global inventory (Global Stocktake, GSt), the contracting parties of Paris have increased the ambition of national climate protection contributions (Nationalally Determined Contributions, NDCS) and the implementation of effective climate protection at national and international level should make important decisions in 2023 (UNFCCC 2023). Concrete global requests for the greenhouse gas reduction for energy systems, in particular the tripling of the expansion of renewable energies, the doubling of the energy efficiency rate and the departure of fossil fuels as well as for Protection of ecosystems on land and in the seas and to sustainable consumption and production patterns were taken. In addition, the GST decision calls for all countries, economic widths, all sectors, categories and greenhouse gases comprehensive NDCs that are at 1.5 C and the long-term strategies for Reduction of greenhouse gas emissions (Longterm Low Greenhouse Gas Emission Development Strategies, LT LEDs) are aligned. Consequently implemented, this would mean a great ambition increase in many countries compared to the previous NDCs. According to Article 4.9 in the Convention From Paris, the NDCs should take the results of the global inventory. All NDCs have to consider the so -called information on transparency, clarity and understanding (Information for Transparency, Clarity and Understanding, ICTU) (UNFCCC 2018). Among other things, this ICTU must be presented how the NDC was taught by the result of the global inventory. Updated NDCs with the 2030 destination and new NDCs with one year 2035 are now to be submitted. Only a few NDCs were submitted to the actual deadline on February 10, 2025. It is expected that a larger number of NDCs will be submitted by September 2025 and that there are other NDCs for the Cop30 Conference of the Conference in Brazil (November 10-21, 2025).
