Description:
SWE Energie GmbH is a company with a majority stake in Stadtwerke Erfurt Group. At the Erfurt-Ost site, it operates a highly efficient gas and steam turbine heat and power plant, which puts on in 1999 with 2 gas turbine offshift boilers and a downstream steam turbinebecame. The system has already been subjected to the first and second modernization, the regular operation was resumed in 2014 and 2022.For the decarbonization of the central district heating system of the city of Erfurt until 2045. As part of this project, the integration of renewable energies and industrial waste heat sources is examined. In this context, the use
of the deep geothermal energy is examined, with the long -term goalin the development of a petrothermal, deep-thermal reservoir in the closed loop procedure for the most extensive decarbonization of the district heating of the city of Erfurt. The deep surface in the lying end of the Thuringian basin under Erfurt is the underexplored Central German crystallinzone(MDKZ). Therefore, an exploration hole should be carried out before the commercial development of the granitoid.
