  • Description:
  • Tenders are invited for gt1d-605gd Integrated Web-Based Digital Engineering Framework Software In line with the objectives of ESA's Agenda 2025, model-based system engineering (MBSE) methods are becoming more prominent in thespace domain. Several ongoing initiatives are targeting the wide-reaching application of MBSE, including development of supporting tools (e.g. custom web-based solutions, commercial tool extensions, spin-in of enhanced user interface (UI) and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies), infrastructure (data hubs and information platforms) and data models (e.g. reference models and semantic ontologies). At the same time the barriers to entry and adoption of MBSE at scale are clearly evident and relate to challenges at a technical, organisational and cultural level. Learning curves associated with commercial tools imply long familiarisation phases, or the necessity for dedicated MBSE experts to support project teams. Existing solutions have limitations related to key user needs such as licensing costs, intuitive use, integrated review workflows, support to next generation standards, fully web-based and collaborative editing and interoperability and integration with domain specific tools. Predecessor activities (e.g. T708-502GE, GT17-062GE) have identified that a custom-developed, open-source and community licensed framework, with features driven by end users, can provide significant added value and address many such challenges. One area of key return on investment potential of MBSE relates to structured re-use and model-based product line engineering. Several space system engineering domains, utilise re-use and reference architectures from one mission to another, the formalisation of which, utilising MBSE, promises significant efficiency benefits and enables re-usable multi-mission solutions.Building on the aforementioned predecessor activities which have developed a fully web-based, SysMLv2 compliant MBSE solution (Ground Segment Engineering Framework' (GSEF)), this activity shall consolidateand produce a state of the art, fully collaborative and web-based MBSE tool. It shall include an integrated review capability, SysML v2 support and flexible domain model library definitions in support of meta-model and reference architecture re-use. The outcome of this activity serves as a cutting edge MBSE framework, available for industry use and commercialisation opportunities throughextensions or plugins and exploiting advanced features such as integration with an artificial intelligence assistant, natural language processing, casebased reasoning and search indexing. The framework shall be integrated with the Model Based Engineering Hub (MBEH), Science Operations Configuration Control Infrastructure (SOCCI), Secure System Engineering framework (SSE), Software Development and DevOps Environments (SDE), Ground Segment AIV/system testing environments and Operations Preparation Environment (OPEN). Validation shall be performed in the context of representative missions, with focus on multi-mission ground segment and operations engineering use cases
