- The large district town of Bad Mergentheim is planning the interior renovation, conversion and modernization of the former Wachbach primary and secondary school. As part of the renovation measures, the school is to be restructured into an all-day school and to include two all-day rooms, a cafeteria, a cafeteria kitchen with adjoining rooms and a school kitchen be expanded. The property is located on the outskirts of Wachbach, is accessed via Erpfentalstrasse through Wachbach or directly from the B 290 via the community connection road and is directly adjacent to a general residential area. The building and land are fully owned the client, the city of Bad Mergentheim. EXISTING: The Ottmar-Schoenhuth School was built in Wachbach in the 1960s as a primary and secondary school with a total of 10 classrooms and 5 classroom-sized specialist rooms and the corresponding adjoining rooms. The building now houses only the single-class primary school. As part of the renovation work, this is to be combined into part of the BA I building and restructured into an all-day school. The building was constructed of reinforced concrete (in-situ concrete construction), and the roof surfaces were designed as reinforced concrete hollow core ceilings. The walls are brick, smooth plastered and painted white. The floor ceilings are designed as reinforced concrete ribbed ceilings and are predominantly clad on the underside with a suspended wooden ceiling. Over the years, additional installations have been laid on plaster via cable ducts.
