• [IRiS - preliminary information] Robust interaction of robotic systems in heterogeneous swarms for use in crisis and disaster situations The Agency for Innovation in Cybersecurity GmbH (Cyber Agency) announces a partnering for May 28, 2026 Event on the research program “Robust interaction of robotic systems in heterogeneous swarms for use in crisis and disaster situations” (IRiS). Heterogeneous robotic networks can potentially provide reconnaissance, protection, transport and support and situational awareness generation in environments in which people are not deployed or are only deployed at high risk. This becomes particularly important where there are (targeted) disturbances in the electromagnetic spectrum, GPS failures or dynamic environments push classic systems to their limits. IRiS therefore addresses the question of how robust, self-organizing and adaptive networks can be developed that remain capable of acting even under adverse conditions. The research program aims to To identify and further develop approaches with which robotic systems can interact robustly in heterogeneous networks - despite jammers, difficult environmental conditions, interrupted radio connections or impaired navigation signals. For this purpose, questions of robot-robot interaction and human-swarm interaction are considered.
