Description:
The University Hospital Muenster (UKM) is one of the largest hospitals in Germany, in the facilities of which around 58,000 patients are treated on an outpatient basis and 475,500 patients. As part of a medical modernization program financed by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia ("Medmop") are expected to be realized on the UKM site for eleven construction projects for the renovation and new construction of buildings in order to ensure modern care for patients and enable research that can exist in global competition. The most extensive project of the Medmop The new building of the medical research center ("Medforce"), with which the institutes for microbiology, virology and hygiene previously distributed in the northern area of the Albert Schweitzer campus are brought together at one location and further research compound areas are realized to create an efficient and powerful structural infrastructure. As a state -of -the -art laboratory building, the Medforce is of particular importance for the future development of the science location in Muenster. The Medforce is to be on the property Domagkstrasse / Coesfelder Kreuz / Rishon-Le-Zion-Ring with a usable area of 13,500 m2 to 14,900 m2.
