• Market research for new pharmaceutical building The Johannes Gutenberg University (JGU) is taking on the role of developer for the new pharmacy building on the JGU campus in Mainz. The planned building has a gross floor area of ​​approx. 24,800 m² on 4 full floors and a basement. The draft plan LP3 is currently being drawn up. The HU construction and the building application will be submitted by the end of October 2026. The planning as well as the turnkey and operational construction of the new building, including the outdoor facilities, should be carried out by a general contractor (GU) based on an output-specific functional performance description (FLB). The planning and construction of the new building will take place at a later date in an EU-wide negotiation process with a preliminary competition advertised. The procedure will be published across Europe in compliance with the requirements of EU procurement law. With the completion of the participation competition, three to four bidders are expected to submit an indicative offer at the beginning of 2027 prompted. After evaluation, this will be discussed with the bidders with the aim of optimization and risk minimization. The bidders are then asked to submit a binding offer. Both qualitative ones are included in the overall ranking as well as price evaluation criteria are taken into account.
