Koellitsch teaching and experimental farm, new pig farming training workshop
The state-owned company Saxon Real Estate and Construction Management is planning to expand pig farming at the Koellitsch teaching and experimental farm (LVG) site for the Inter-company areasto fundamentally modernize vocational training (animal and farmer), applied research and efficient and animal-friendly management. The overarching objectives are education, demonstration and innovation:
- Establishing a modern and exemplary basis for the professional imagement in pig farming (breeding and fattening) - opportunity to instruct and demonstrate future-oriented solutions (animal welfare and animal-friendly husbandry, management, occupational safety, environmental protection, ...) and various system solutions for educational and training purposes (feedingment procedures, movement pens, floor design,
air conditioning, design of the deck area)
testing base as part of the application-oriented research on
pig farming
demonstration of modern and animal welfare-friendly pig farming for the
general public.
