- The LAKUMED clinics, the Landshut Clinic and the St. Marien Children's Hospital will merge to form the LA-Regio-Kliniken on January 1st, 2026. In the course of this merger, an overall medical concept is created that relates the supply structures to the houses Landshut-Mitte, Achdorf, Vilsbiburg, Rottenburg and St. Marien. As a result, the individual locations must be structurally upgraded in accordance with this regional restructuring. At the Achdorf location (currently LAKUMED Hospital Landshut-Achdorf). including the functional positions in the future - cardiology, - vascular surgery, - angiology, - gynecology (excluding oncology) and obstetrics, - pediatrics, be established. In addition, the nursing stations must be aligned with the above-mentioned functional areas. As part of the so-called BA 8 for the conversion and partial expansion of the Landshut-Achdorf building of the LA-Regio gKU, this realignment of the hospital is to be pursued. This BA1 includes at least the renovation of the east bed tower and the renovation of the operating rooms. Furthermore Smaller measures in the areas of cardiology, vascular surgery, angiology, emergency rooms and obstetrics are conceivable. Any construction work must be planned and carried out in the existing building while operations are ongoing. The current rough cost estimate for these conversions amounts to around €61.5 million gross (KGR 200-700, cost status 2025). See also the enclosed rough cost list.
