• Due to the (global) pilot nature of the systematic recovery and disposal of old munitions at sea, a number of legal, especially licensing and licensing questions arise for the operation of the facility German internal waters, the territorial sea and the exclusive economic zone (EEZ). This was already evident in the previously referenced pilot projects to explore and recover old ammunition dumps in the Baltic Sea off the coast Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. A variety of federal and state legal framework conditions must be taken into account for the project, including nature conservation law, water and pollution control law, waterway law, Occupational safety, hazard prevention and explosives law as well as electricity and shipping police regulations, but also potential special municipal regulations. In addition, there may be references to European or international law.
