For the location of the Leibniz Institute (IPB) in Halle (Saale) was 2021"Special act (category B1) MetaCom: Program Center for Plant Metabolomics and Computational Biochemistry" approved. The work units of the Program Center must be accommodated in a new building because in principle a nation deficit for the IPB in entirely and also in combination with the additionalProgram units of approx. 4,500 m2. The additional space requirement (1,800 m2/2,200 m2) for the "Program Center MetaCom" is primarily to be realized as a new building. In a downstream period, the remaining deficit (approx. 2,300 m2) is to use the existing building fabriccan be reduced or dissolved. The basic financing takes place half by the state of Saxony-Anhalt and the federal government.
