The lightning protection class III is classified according to VdS 2010 as a “publicly accessible building with public access”. A foundation earth electrode is provided for the school building, consisting of one Functional potential equalization conductor made of galvanized strip iron 30 x 3.5 mm in the base plates and a ring earth made of V4A round steel under the base plates and connected to each other. Connection flags for down conductors are provided at intervals of approx. 20 m. In All technical rooms on the ground floor are provided with connection lugs for potential equalization. The conductors are made of 8 mm round steel. The connection is routed above the roof. At the base point, the down conductor is connected to the foundation earth, while the Connection to the roof is realized via a connection in the parapet area.
