• LO 02 - Project management LOOP seawater route Cottbus Baltic Sea Project management LOOP - Cottbus Baltic Sea seawater route The Cottbus municipal utility company is building an infrastructure for sea water extraction and return with supply and return pipes between the Center of the city of Cottbus and the Baltic Sea, around 3 km away ("Seewassertrasse LOOP" or just "LOOP"). The LOOP seawater route serves to supply the city of Cottbus with renewable energy. The LOOP is designed as a ring line for the Energy provision designed for both cooling and heating purposes. With the LOOP seawater route, the city of Cottbus will have a basis for sustainable energy systems that will enable it to achieve its climate goals. The costs of the According to current knowledge, the structural construction is estimated to amount to the following amounts: - Seawater collection (includes structure and technology) = EUR 18.7 million - Seawater transport (pipeline and pipe installations) = EUR 27.8 million - Seawater return = EUR 2.8 million.
