1. Client and project context The Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe (LWL) intends to develop a comprehensive master plan for the Henrichshütte LWL Museum in Hattingen. The Henrichshütte is part of the LWL network "Museums for Industrial Culture" and is one of the most important locations of German industrial history. As a museum developed blast furnace with national importance - and ?a. The oldest preserved blast furnace in the area and a Bessemer -steelworks only preserved worldwide - the Henrichshütte embodies a unique monument conservation ensemble with a high cultural, technical and social -historical value. The aim is long -term security, monument -friendly upgrading and documented planning of the renovation of all surviving buildings and plants on the museum site.
