- The North Ostsee Canal (NOK) is the most busy artificial naval road in the world in Schleswig-Holstein. The waterway and shipping office North Ostsee Canal (WSA NOK) operates various ferries and work ships on the NOK.
On the NOK ferries and on the work boats, various nautical devices, such as radar systems for inland waters, turning gauges, GPS-compass, ECDIS (Electronic Chart Display Information System), AIS (Automatic Identification System) and radio communication systems, are available.
