- The Institute for Maritime Technologies and Propulsion Systems of the German Aerospace Center e. V. (DLR) was founded with the aim of researching innovative technologies for defossilization and reducing emissions in shipping and further develop. The use of a research vessel as a floating laboratory is planned for the transfer and further development of technologies from other areas of application. The ship will be used as a modular test platform for climate-friendly Propulsion systems, especially hydrogen and battery technologies, are designed and used under realistic conditions for the integration, testing and certification of safety-relevant maritime systems. The intended berth is in Kiel; The ship is scheduled to be delivered in October 2027. The subject of the tender is the procurement of management services for the DLR ship. The service must be carried out by a professionally suitable and capable contractor who has proven experience in the research environment and in the operation of research or offshore vehicles. The service provision is divided into two phases. In Phase I, the scope of services includes supporting the new ship construction as well as the joint development of a crew concept and an Integrated Safety Management (ISM) concept in close coordination with the DLR. Phase II begins with delivery of the ship, in which the contractor acts as a registered managing company management and the safe operation of the research platform until the end of the contract term.
