- In the Schleswig-Holstein Niederungen (areas below 2.5 m normal pegnull = 20 % of the country area), water and agriculture must adapt to numerous challenges. This includes the effects of climate change, strong off -road sacs in drained moor areas and a Water management infrastructure in need of renovation.
Against this background, the country together with a project advisory board in a multi -year Process developed a strategy for the future of lowlands up to 2100 ("lowland strategy"). In December 2024 the action plan was to Low strategy decided by the cabinet. In order to support the entertainers of the water management infrastructure (usually the water and soil associations (WBV)) in adapting the water management within the meaning of the lowland strategy, a new funding guideline was already in 2023 enact. Several projects at WBV are currently being funded via this guideline, and individual other projects are being planned.
However, the application for new projects has so far been very limited. The Mekun therefore wants to commission a higher position to support the WBV in this, the necessary Adaptation of your water management infrastructure in the catchment areas of the lowlands. The overarching goal is to improve the implementation of the lowland strategy.
