- This publication serves as a market survey for the delivery of a TMA (thermal-mechanical analysis) service description TMA (see also the appendix!) The German Aerospace Center operates various systems at its Braunschweig location Research institutes in the fields of aviation, transport, space and energy. In the Institute for Lightweight System Construction, new lightweight construction technologies are being developed, using a laboratory for thermal analysis to examine a wide variety of materials in terms of their thermal properties Properties can be characterized. A new TMA (thermal-mechanical analysis) is to be purchased for this laboratory in order to determine dimensional changes in the form of expansion or shrinkage over a time or temperature course. The analysis device should meet the following minimum requirements: Sample changer (mandatory) with at least 20 places for an independent sample run Temperature range: -150 to 600°C Sample size: max. 20 mm Force range: -0.1 to 1 N Resolution: 0.5 nm Frequencies: 0.01-1 Hz Sampling rate: 10 per second Easily replaceable components should be offered for this device, which enable additional operation in the following modes: Penetration mode Tensile mode 3-point bending mode DLTMA mode (measurement under periodic force) The furnace chamber should be able to be flushed with a defined gas if necessary, and the flow should be programmed using software to ensure quick and easy switching without modifications.
