The RWTH Aachen University Hospital is purchasing a magnetic resonance mass spectrometer. This device will am Institute for Molecular Cardiovascular Research (IMCAR) and required as part of the DFG-funded Collaborative Research Center TRR219 "Mechanisms of cardiovascular complications in chronic renal insufficiency".

General description magnetic resonance mass spectrometer
Required: ein compact, high-resolution magnetic resonance mass spectrometer for experimental use with dual ESI and MALDI source. The magnet should offer at least 5 Tesla and the highest possible homogeneity and stability. The dual ion source (ESI/MALDI) of the required mass spectrometer shouldProvide the ability to automatically switch between these sources via the integrated software so that ESI and MALDI ions can be captured simultaneously. A mass range between 100-10000 m/z is required, in which the mass accuracy is in the low molecular range of 100 - 1000 m/zshould be below 600 ppb and a mass resolution of more than -400,000 is offered for LC and MALDI experiments. A detection speed of at least 1 Hz should be achieved with the required mass accuracy and resolution.
