- The aim of the expert opinion is to show the use and potential as well as the use of biogenic residual and waste as a renewable carbon source in the chemical industry, in particular on the basis of available data and present analyzes. The potential importance of residual and waste materials as a carbon source for defossilization in the chemical industry should be estimated.
Before this goal, today's and potential future (raw) material use of biomass (including biogenic residual and waste materials) in the energy-intensive industries, with a focus on the chemical industry, must be determined based on a literature research. The possible (future) material usage paths of biogenic residues and waste must be presented in the chemical industry as well as processes/process routes for the production of quantity-relevant raw materials and chemicals.
