Hydra Bio has four types of ions (XE, O, AR and N), which can be used independently of one another to enable local, large-volume material removal and precise top-down and cross-sectional milling milling. Plasma sources can deliver higher jet currents than liquid metal sources (LMIs; "Liquid Metal Ion Source"), which mainly with Gallium ions are operated. With the help of plasma ions, the ablation of large, high pressure frozen tissue samples with up to an order of the size of higher ablation rates is made possible.
